Shortly thereafter, after leaving the mainland slip...
...the ferry began to back up and then spin aimlessly in the channel before lurching back whence it came and slamming into the dock wall. The Toronto Port Authority would like to thank Father Mulholland, and God...for nothing.

LMAO! Reminds me of the time I told my brother-in-law that I wished God would let me have a piece of Cindy Crawford, and when I got home, the dog had caught a mole in the back yard and dropped in on the living room rug. We still laugh about that one.

You naughty boy...
be well,

You know Paul, I'm not nearly as up on my arguments as you are, but that sounds just a little bit like "cum hoc ergo propter hoc". I don't think the Port Authority would even consider trying to blame God (or Father M) for not guiding the ferry to safety. The pilot may have to answer for something though.

Thank God he did bless it and it made it safely back to the dock.....no sinking, no casualties. Being blessed is not an absence of troubles, just Someone having your back in the midst of them. - Barbara
Oh, come on, Paul! You're a skeptic. I expect better from you! The results of the accident neither support, nor deny, the existence of God. If anything, a true skeptic would wonder, "what would have happened WITHOUT the blessing?" ;)

There is comfort in steady people! I feel right at home and the time I've neglected my visiting has disappeared with just one entry. Meaning, I'm not scratching my head lost~~
Tis good to be back

LOL - that is sad!

Well I think the problem is obvious: Wild thrashing after being sprinkled with holy water, clearly the crash was a result of DEMONIC POSSESSION! (dum! dum! dum!)

No, Charley. The true skeptic, having made himself aware of the available evidence (for example: http://www.beliefnet.com/story/188/story_18848_1.html ) would not need to speculate on what might have happened had the prayer not been said. Study after clinical study have shown that prayer has no effect. The evidence has spoken, and it has spoken clearly. Had the prayer not been uttered, the exact same incident would have occurred in the exact same way.
In the absence of evidence, the skeptic would say, "I do not know if the prayer had an effect or not." Fortunately, we are not confronted by an absence of evidence in the case of prayer. We have lots.

Mwahahaha . . .
That is so wrong. :-D
