Me: "Hurry up, Matthew. If you don't leave the house right now, you're going to be late for school."
Matthew: "Well, I'm going to be late, then, because I'm not going anywhere without straightening my hair."
Oh, the many joys of raising a fashion conscious teen!

Yowza! I grew up in a house with seven boys. Talk like that could get a person stabbed.

In all of the pictures you have presented of Matt, I have not seen a single ONE where he has had straight hair. Could it be that if he had said, "Well, I'm going to be late, then, because I'm not going anywhere without artfully mussing my hair," you would have smacked him upside the back of the head with your Fleshy Palm of Righteous Indignation?

There's a girl on his mind, that's my guess! <chuckle> bea
OMG... My 13 year old is the opposite... his hair must be as shaggy and curly-ish as possible and of course, hanging in his eyes, and look 'unbrushed' before leaving the house. Ack. Tomorrow is the last day of school for this year... THANK THE UNIVERSE!
be well,

Oh Dan... you are so passe. Don't you know that the 'new boy' is very hair and clothing conscious??? OMG... Fuzzy (13 yo) is worse than my daughter!!! Way, way worse.
Of course, she is very much establishing her 'I refuse to conform to what you expect of a me as a girl/lady/female' attitude with the world right now. Ack. It's good and bad all at the same time...
be well,

Give him a break, I tried that once (many moons ago) and it's not as easy as it sounds, ;O)
B.
That's classic. (Although I'd have probably felt the same way.)
