Go somewhere else

I don't do this very often, but you need to go and read this journal entry. Not only does it look at the recent Mel Gibson kerfuffle from an angle I have not seen discussed before, it may also help some people to understand a person in their own life a little bit better. Written in a simple and straight-forward style, it is nevertheless a remarkably poignant read.

You are so right.  It was a wonderfully insightful entry and I agree with every word!  Except, I do think that Mel's comments came from his own prejudices that have been under question before, ie; during the release of the Passion and about his dad and how he was raised to view Jews.

You are so good Paul to send people over there, though.  It may very well help someone who hasn't any experience in alcoholism or drug addiction recognize someone in their life in crisis.  I wish I could say it was new to me, but it isn't.  I was just lucky it wasn't ever in my immediate surroundings with my parents...but it was there and is there, with aunts, uncles and cousins.

be well,
Dawn
