::Well, Paulsie, thanks for the
hospitality, but it's time for me
to hit the road. I'm off to Ma-
I mean back to New Jersey::
::No problem, Flat. I'm glad you
decided to visit us up here in the
Great White North. Before you go,
can you put me back the way I was?::
::Yep, I'm on my way back to
the good old USA. The sea is
calling me. Need to visit the beach::
::Sure. That's great. But before
you go, you'll put me back to
full size, like I was before you
got here, right?::
::Got my bags all packed. Thanks
for the t-shirt. Hope we get some
sunny weather down in Ma- I mean
New Jersey::
::Seriously, Flat, put me back the
way I was. You can't just up and
take off and leave me like this::
::See you, Dude::
::NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!:: tags:Humour, Flat ScalziMany thanks to Dornbrau for the photoshop.

::Ah, what a glorious day. Nothing
like a Muskoka chair in the sun::
::Muskoka chair?::
::Yeah, that's what this type of chair
is called. It's named after an area
of central Ontario that is chock full
of beautiful lakes. It's where many
Ontarians, and even a good number
of New Yorkers and people from other
north eastern states have cottages::
::Hey, you want a Canadian?::
::A Canadian?::
::Yeah, I think I got a couple cold
ones in the fridge::
::OK, is this the Canuck version
of that old "do you keep pop in
the fridge" joke?::
::No, it's a beer. Molson Canadian::
::Oh. Well, I don't drink beer::
::No, honestly, I don't like beer::
::Dude, don't say that so loud. I don't
want the neighbours calling the
Mounties, and having you investigated
as a "person of interest" due to being
distinctly "un-Canadian," OK?::
::Doesn't like beer. What the hell
did you get me into, Tee?:: This is one of a series of posts featuring Flat Scalzi. To read about Flat's visit from the beginning, start here.tags:Humour, Flat Scalzi
Weekend Assignment #109: What are some of the most recent music albums you have bought? Name up to three. Note that I said "bought" -- I want to know what music you've liked so much that you've actually shelled out cash for them.
Extra Credit: Did you buy these albums on CD, or did you get them online through iTunes or another music service?
I haven't been buying a lot of music recently because it falls into the category of unnecessary luxury. However, over the past couple of Christmases, and birthdays, my wife and son have been helping me deal with my new-CD withdrawl pains by buying me a few here and there. A notably eclectic mix of music was in my stocking this past Christmas morning.
1) Yo-Yo Ma - Plays Ennio Morricone (The cello artist plays selected excerpts from a dozen of Morricone's film scores).
2) The Rat Pack - Boys' Night Out. (A variety of live tracks sung by Frank, Dean, and Sammy).
3) AC/DC - Back In Black. (Matthew rectified a failing in my CD collection, that being that I didn't own any AC/DC albums, by buying me their biggest).
Since then, we have worked together to continue fixing that oversight, as can be seen in the picture below. Matthew has recently identified another hole in the collection: Jimi Hendrix. What do you suppose I'm getting for Fathers' Day?(Do me a favour and pretend that CD just to the left of The Razor's Edge isn't there, OK?)
Extra Credit: I'm a little bit of an audio snob, so downloaded music isn't satisfying to me. It just doesn't sound good enough to me. I don't listen to music on my computer, so I buy the CD versions of albums. My next hardware purchase will be a DVD/CD player with SACD capability, to take that next step in audio quality.
My next Cd purchase will be for my wife on Mothers' Day. Local boys Bedouin Soundclash - Sounding a Mosaic. Great album. I recommend it highly.

Time once again to put out the call to one and all about a carnival...nope, I can't keep that up. Anyway, the twelfth edition of CarnivAOL is currently in pre-production for release next Tuesday. If you're an AOL or AIM journaler, and you have a recent journal entry you're proud of, and would like to get seen by a wider audience, why not submit it to CarnivAOL? More details available at the CarnivAOL site itself. G'head, you know you wanna.

Hear ye, hear ye! Be it known that on this the twenty-seventh day of April, in the year two thousand and six, there has been published at the renowned online journal, Science and Politics, owned by the inestimable Bora Zivkovic, of the North Carolina Zivkovic's, the thirty-third edition of that most respected and rational blog carnival known as The Skeptics' Circle. This proclamation, by the Lord and Master of this demense, the honoured and respected Flat Paulsie, shall be here posted until such time as ten more proclamations, or articles, or other such blog entries shall be posted, so as to push this blog entry off the front page of this online journal. Be it so.

::Well, Flat, what do you think you'd
like to do while you're here? We
could go downtown and see the CN
Tower. Niagara falls is pretty far
away. That would be like a day trip,
and we may not have time for that...::
::Toronto has a thriving theater
district. The Lord Of The Rings
is playing right now, although tickets
to that might be a little hard to come
by...::
::Flat...?::
::OK, I'm ready to go::
::What?::
::Yeah, well what do you think aboot
this, eh?::
tags:Humour, Flat Scalzi If you're not sure what just happened to Flat, this beer commercial explains it all. (Caution, 5Mb file. If you're on dial-up, you probably shouldn't even bother.) If you enjoyed that, here is the page it came from where there are several more, including the famous Joe Canuck "I AM CANADIAN" rant.
