I've got questions...

Here's a little something I'd like to have some fun with. Please answer the question below. I'll explain where I'm going with this in a day or two after I've seen some results. Be as honest as you can. Don't worry, it's all perfectly anonymous.

Did you answer that one? Great! How about one more? It's pretty similar. Be careful. I swapped the order of the answers around.

Thanks a whole heap. Give me a couple of days to compile some results from these, and I'll have a new, fun and fascinating entry for you to read. See you soon.

Let's put it this way ...  way too deeeeeeeep for me to think about this evening, but have fun with your survey ....  Judy

It's the madness, I fear.  Winter has seeped it's wicked tendrils into Paul's head and wrapped them around his mind.  Soon, we will see bunny-talk.  The Madness worries me.

Dan,

I think you are right... Paul has been sucked into some sort of Freud dimension where he is going to analyze us and our psyches.... uh oh.

be well,
Dawn

I actually think I've figured out what Paul's up to, and I am definitely looking forward to his entry on this.  It should be enlightening.

I sense a human mentality trap here.
And it isn't even subtle.

Where's the gray zone? We're human, we need fuzzy, wishy washy escape clauses.

Ugh!  I hate those 'either'' or' polls.  Neither answer described me 'very' or 'not at all'.  I'm kind of a happy inbetween.  I had to look up 'autonomy' because it is one of the few words in the English language that I have never had the need to use in a sentence.
And whats wrong with a little bunny talk huh dpoem?

Don't worry, folks. It's nothing so sinister as Rebecca suspects. I'm harmless, really. And my commentary on the results will not be about you...or me, at all. It's about something completely different.

Sorry, Dorn, about the false dichotomy the questions represent. Just answer as best you can, and all will be revealed in short order. I'm pretty sure Dan's knows what I'm on about, and he's looking forward to the reveal. I'm sorry, does that scare some of you?

Here's a little bonus for you. When I explain where I'm going with this, I'll have a fun, illustrative video for you to watch. Cute girls, an old curmudgeon, lots of laughs...

I agree with Dorn and others.  A false dichotemy is no choice at all.

Hi Paul,
I've answered as honestly as I can, although I suspect I know where all this is going. Will not give the game away though! Looking forward to reading the expose,
Kate.

Cute girls and a curmudgeon?!?

You're going to show us a video of a boozed-up Andy Rooney eating wings at Hooter's, aren't you?

I understand he's been known to get a little "grabby" when he's on the sauce.

I VOTED!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I, too, am pretty sure I know where this is going, and don't like either poll question.  I briefly felt inclined to refuse to vote based on the ludicrous extremes in each question, but then I realised that I enjoy silly exercises and the potentially entertaining discussion engendered.

I voted.  But I totally wouldn't have if you hadn't promised all the cute, harmless stuff out the other end.

Hi paul,
I'm having trobule viewing the polls. I'm using IE7 if that provides you with any help fixing the issue.

Charley,
There's nothing I can do. The AOL journals poll feature is still in beta, and is extremely limited. I'll drop a line to Stephaniebambam, as polls is her product, but until then, unless you have Firefox on your computer, you probably can't vote. I'm sorry. If you want, you can e-mail me your votes, and I'll add them. Or, you could just not worry about it,'cause it's all in fun anyway.

I'm going to clear my browser history and vote again.  Only, this time, since it's anonymous and all, I'm going to vote nekkid.

I was strolling down journal lane and your door was open so i decided to come by for tea. I sat for a spell and voted on what seemed to be an innocent question and then went on my way. As i traveled further down the road I realized that the two questions you posed have a striking simularity to a box name pandora. Whether on purpose or by sheer accident you have ask two core character questions that are at the root of why the world is the way it is. Not to bring a deepness to this, but i await what comes from this pandora's box.

Oooh Dan... you said nekkid... he he  he he  he he
